Blasting Bead

The psychedelic nature of this work is accentuated by beaded forms that interlock and connect with one another. Kaleidoscopic fractals of color glimmer and churn against their neon backdrop, which takes the form of an animalistic head.
Blasting Bead offers a contemporary take on more literal depictions of beadwork animals. Combining common Black Masking Indian motifs such as animal heads and vegetal patterns, the tapestry toes the line between beast and blossom, an amorphous treasure full of life and mystery.
