FairWail delves into sorrow and losses of loved ones. Lakea incorporated trinkets gifted by her mother throughout the mask, attaching an intimate aura to the work that reflects familial connection. Various blue stones, specifically Turquoise gemstones harken to a legacy of artists who created work around the color blue. 

The He Loves Me Not collection subverts the form of an iron slave mask meant to mute its victim by reimagining a tool of enslavement as an object of protection. Each mask in this series explores trauma and healing processes for Black men while highlighting a particular gemstone for its restorative properties.
